It's the day before Election Day in November and I've been listening to "Home" by Mac Davis. Everything about this song, the lyrics, the music, and especially your arrangement come together in a powerful statement. A message that I can't believe was recorded almost 40 years ago. A grateful thank you to Mac Davis & M. J. Collins for the melody and lyrics and to you, Mr. Butler for an arrangement that is exquisite, beautiful and complements the message Mac Davis tries to convey. I somehow wish this song could be heard by all of us, and heard now, for it's a song that speaks to us in our heart. The beauty of this song is overwhelming and it takes me to a special place that only a few songs can do. Thank you.

Artie,Thanks for sending me a personal reply some time ago re: my query about the Motion Picture "OHara's Wife".
I have since bought the dvd,and the neat sound of yours I was interested in is in "Scene 10",a harmonica/banjo thingy. Jeez,if only that was available as a whole song!
Love yer stoof, mon!

Hello Artie,
Your work on Feelin' Alright says it ALL!! My Piano teacher at the time, Helene Mirich, who is another great, wrote it out for me in '72 and I have been playing it ever since. Whenever I sit down at the piano I play the opening line.
Thanks Artie,
You the Man

Hi Artie!
I'm David Winer and I am very intrigued by your arranging of the "triologue" of Bobby Vee's version of "One"--the Harry Nillsson-written number, later a hit for Three Dog Night and especially the Mac Davis SONGPAINTER album! "Home" really brings a tear to my eye and I hope I can learn to play it well enough to actually perform it at an upcoming party. Wish those two albums would come out on CD too. I do love your piano work and arranging for strings on the 5th Dimension's SOUL AND INSPIRATION album, too. I wish I could do your piano work on their "House For Sale" and "Salty Tears"--I can't even play Joe Cocker's "Feelin' Alright", but I'm trying. You're really good.
Kindest Regards,
David N. Winer
