How did I get here? Tonight, watching The Sopranos episode 3 from Season 3 on DVD I heard "Sally Go Round The Roses" in the background as Tony dined at Artie's restaurant. Although it was recorded before I was born, I was familiar with the song because my Aunt recorded it as well in the 60's - (I think as a demo) herself a "rising star" from South Philadelphia. I am happy to have learned the history - as well as more about the man behind many of the songs I enjoy today. I am guessing that David Chase sought to pay tribute to THIS Artie with this song selection in The Soprano's episode. Bravo!

Dear Artie, I admire all of your work, but it is the very first that is dearest to my heart, "Sally Go Round The Roses". I loved the unique sound of that song and it still evokes fond memories from the early sixties. Thanks for making it available again - it was like finding a long, lost friend.
